Jordan Boyd was born on May 23, 1997 and tragically passed away on August 12, 2013. Jordan grew up in Bedford, Nova Scotia and attended Sunnyside Elementary School, Eaglewood Elementary School, and Bedford Junior High School.  Most recently, Jordan attended Rothesay Netherwood School in Rothesay, New Brunswick where he completed Grade 10.

Jordan was the son of Stephen and Deborah Boyd and has two older sisters, Kelsey and Jillian, and one older brother Greg, maternal and paternal grandparents, seven aunts and uncles, and many cousins, all of whom he loved dearly.
   
Jordan loved life and all it had to offer, and occasionally when it probably shouldn’t have been enjoyed so much.   As a young toddler and as he grew, he was very outgoing and talked to everybody and anybody. If Jordan was your friend, he was your friend for life. Jordan always stuck-up for his friends. He was a happy, kind, and gentle soul. Jordan always saw the best everybody had to offer and he always tried to give them his best.  Many people loved to tease Jordan because he took it for what it was and gave back as good as he got. Everybody who met Jordan was immediately drawn to his smile and it is something everybody who met him remembers fondly about him.  Jordan was very blessed in his life, something which he knew and was thankful for.

Hockey was a very big part of Jordan’s life, and he made many friends in the Bedford & District Minor Hockey Association and the Atlantic hockey community as a whole through his involvement in competitive hockey, where he was known for his size and as a skilled and fair competitor.  Jordan picked up a hockey stick when he was just two years old and never looked back. At the time of his passing, Jordan was playing hockey, attending the opening day of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan’s training camp, having been drafted 66th overall by them in the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft, an accomplishment he was very proud of yet at the same time very humble about.  In June of 2013, Jordan attended an Acadie-Bathurst team launch event in Bathurst. His fondest memory from that event was playing street hockey with a young two-year old boy and seeing the joy on that young boys face when he gave him a high five after he scored a goal.

Jordan left us far too soon. He leaves a big void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Jordan would want everybody to celebrate his life and continue to seek their dreams.  He did.
